The National Dance Festivals in Estonia are usually held together with the Song Festivals, in 5 year intervals. This event started in 1934 with Estonian Games, Dance and Gymnastics festival with one and a half thousand folk dancers performing. Now 8,000, and even more, dancers form colorful patterns on the field, often interpreting the national themes.
