Waved albatross breed primarily on Espanola Island in areas of lava with boulders. They are spectacular flyers, but have difficulties taking off and landing due to their huge wings. The albatrosses may fly 10-100 kilometers away from their nest to bring food to their chicks. The partners remain mates for lifetime.
