Cloud ribbons weave a lacy veil over the Alsek River in the Saint Elias Range. This is a coy world, often hiding in the mists and opening up only for the lucky. The Alsek River here is wide and smooth, but to the north things aren’t so peaceful as it passes through the Turnback Canyon, one of the wildest stretches of navigable whitewater anywhere.
