Mount Igikpak is one of the most spectacular features in the western part of the Brooks Range. Its fingered summit rises like an ornament on a frosty layered cake over the broad valley of the Noatak River. From here, a three-hundred-mile float trip to Kotzebue enhances the feeling of remoteness and gives departing climbers time to reflect and give shape to their experiences in the Brooks Range.
